Our Spanish DMC, Ambiance Incentives just concluded a VIP tour for 12 clients called “Basque Gastronomy Tour”, covering the beautiful of cities Bilbao and San Sebastián and the stunning wine region of La Rioja inbetween.

One of the highlights during the programme was the “Wine Architecture Tour” through La Rioja where guests could experience 3 of the most uncommon and interesting bodegas in the world, all located in a radius of just a few miles: the tour started in Languardia with the surprising Bodega Ysios designed by Spanish star architect Santiago Calatrava. We moved on to the charming village of Samaniego exploring Bodega Baigorri designed by Inaki Aspiazu. Eventually, guests reached the fabulous Marqués de Riscal winery in Elciego, with its “Luxury Collection” hotel designed by Frank O. Gehry, the architect who also designed the astonishing Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. Lunch took place at the Michelin-star rated gourmet restaurant of Marqués de Riscal – a real gastronomic experience!

This memorable tour took 10 days through one of the most interesting and beautiful wine regions in Europe, and included visits to wineries, historic villages, museums, excellent restaurants, cooking classes and many wine tastings. The chosen hotels during the tour were the Domine Bilbao (5*), Villa Laguardia (4*) and the majestic Maria Cristina Hotel (5* GL) in San Sebastián.
